Many moons ago, I had the dream of becoming a rockstar, and I like to believe that I was halfway toward becoming so. As of today, Su Real Guayoyo still represents the creative project that I’m most proud of, as it involved music, storytelling, graphic design, video, marketing, and everything in between.
In 2013, we released the band’s debut EP, “Sin que el mundo exista”, which quickly gained some traction in radio stations across my country. We gave interviews, got nominated as “Year’s Best EP” at a renowned music award in the Venezuelan rock scene and were truly finding our own sound. Motivated by the political turmoil, not long after, I had to flee and, as an immigrant, my life plans took a 180-degree turn, so I had no choice, but to put that old dream of mine on an eternal hiatus.
